Ruffa's Official Statement - From PEP/TV Patrol

"I am reluctant to make a statement regarding the incident last Sunday to avoid being accused of 'gumigimik' but since I feel the need to defend myself, lest I be judged unfairly, and ayoko na pong palakihin ito so I will say my piece.

"First of all I hold Tito Boy and Kris in such high regard as professional mentors and personal friends.

"Secondly, I wasn't reacting to just the video clip shown wherein Kris remarked 'Ruffa, aminin mo, ibang level ang saya dito.' Hindi naman po ako mababaw at pikon na tao.

"I always conduct myself as a professional to let a supposedly small matter such as this bother me.

"That being said, the reason why I reacted that way, seemingly OA or not, is because aside from being understandably emotional that Sunday (it was my last 2 episodes as co-host of The Buzz), the series of condescending remarks noticed by viewers through the years which I've constantly brushed off in the spirit of 'pakikisama' also took a toll on me.

"I invite you to view replays of past episodes online and you'll understand exactly where I'm coming from. Off-camera, sometimes Kris acknowledges my presence and other times (like that Sunday, March 7) she would not.

"To clarify, I did not 'walk out.' After what I thought was a commercial break, I felt tears were starting to well up. I went back to my dressing room to compose myself. But the tears wouldn't stop.

"Third, my mom [Annabelle Rama] has nothing personal against Senator Noynoy and the Aquino family. She never attacked the good Senator's character. She just expressed what she was feeling at that moment. Just like you and I, my mom has her own perspective and we should respect that. After all, we do live in a democracy.

"Lastly, in the spirit of unity and our long tenure on the Buzz I appreciate and accept Kris' public apology. I will always remember my 3 yrs on the Buzz with great fondness. I will miss everyone dearly.

"To Miss Kris Aquino's family, loved ones and fans worldwide, I would also like to apologize kung nasaktan ang damdamin niyo. Misunderstandings happen among the closest of friends. Ang importante po, nagkakaintindihan na kami.

"To Senator Noynoy Aquino, in behalf of my mom and the entire Gutierrez family, we sincerely apologize kung nasali po kayo sa isang babaeng usapin.

"Being the gentleman that you are, you will most probably just brush this off and laugh at our crazy showbiz life. Let us put this episode to rest so you can focus on your campaign and everyone else can peacefully go back to work.
"Thank you to my family, friends & fans all across the globe for your unwavering support.

"To my haters and those that unfairly judge me, I thank you for you make me stronger. I promise to behave myself & continue to try to be a better mother, daughter, sister and lady :) After all...no one's perfect! :)

What's the latest buzz??? THE BUZZ!

I know. Tsismosa!

I rarely blog about showbiz, but can't help it! It's a form of entertainment aside from the Korean drama series I watch at KBS. Yes, allow me to indulge myself here.

Anyway, watching The Buzz this afternoon, I had a chance to see Ruffa(R) in her fab gown today. I think she had to wear it because it sort of felt like her graceful exit from ABS-CBN. 

March 7, 2010 episode

Everything was going well and in fact, I didn't even notice Kris(K) bullying R during this time. They even joked about moving to the new network where it's happier to be with them on the program, while R told K not to rub it in, then the tearful R just walked out when they prompted for a commercial break. Knowing K  for being tactless, and R took it pretty hard, this then sparked the so called fight.

Here, by the way, was the POV segment before everything heated up (thanks Karen =) ).

Everything was running normally on The Buzz, until I read this tweet from @djmotwister stating "just heard Ruffa Gutierrez walked out of the Buzz in tears cuz Kris Aquinos attitude prob. she was being rude bout Ruffa going go tv5. Sucks". OMG, R, crying?

That's when I tried to glue my attention now to the tube, switching from StarTalk and The Buzz.

Chismosa! lol

Anyway, when I switched to The Buzz, R wasn't there anymore as Boy(B) and K were interviewing K's hubby James Yap on his recent achievement(s), and baby James. I really wasn't paying that much attention to the scene since I was switching from station to station. StarTalk host Raymond Gutierrez was already telling the audience that at StarTalk, all colleagues love each other and that he'd not do anything to make anyone cry. 

Then they announced that they would be having Annabelle Rama, R's mom, to give a comment via phone.

Apparently, K has been interrupting R during here supposedly "farewell" speech, which may appear to have been a form of "pambabara". She even told the people the reason now for not voting Noynoy. I can really understand a mother's frustration over her kid being bullied by some brat, but blowing it out of proportion by telling people not to vote for Noynoy? Oh well, real emotions do come out when upset, but it sure is not right to involve other people.

That graceful exit of R turned into a juicy controversy that got the people talking for the rest of the night! This may go on for at least maybe a week?

By this time, Kenya Romania must have met up with Mauritius Palau. Their longing for each other must have flowed like water let loose from a dam. Tagal kasi nila hindi nagkita, eh! The brazen Kenya Romania doesn’t seem to care if public sentiment is against her, mapagbigyan lang ang hilig. Sometimes in her excitement, she runs the risk of missing her flights. Funfare’s LAX DPA said that when Kenya Romania flew back to Manila from L.A. in December last year, she missed her flight because she arrived at LAX late. Good thing she was put on the next flight that same night. One time, she nearly delayed a domestic flight because she lingered on the celfon, talking to Mauritius Palau. The lovebirds should relish every moment of their, ehem, stolen time. Anytime now, Mauritius Palau’s wife Jamaica will be joining him. Oh well, once the legal wife comes, the “incidental” one will have to disappear pronto — that is, move out of the third-floor flat she’s staying in, a yell away from where Mauritius Palau is staying!

Sinu si Kenya Romania, Mauritius Palau and wife Jamaica? This is an easy one. Hindi na natuto...tsk tsk!
